Novaport’s passenger traffic rises 9% to 25 mln ppl in 2019
MOSCOW, Feb 18 (PRIME) -- The passenger traffic of Russian airport holding Novaport of tycoon Roman Trotsenko increased by 9% on the year to 25 million people in 2019, but the company cut its 2020 guidance to 6% due to the coronavirus outbreak, Trotsenko told reporters on Tuesday.
“We finished the year of 2019 with passenger traffic of 25 million people,” he said, adding that the increase amounted to 9%.
When asked about the passenger traffic for 2020, he said, “We will grow. We expected growth to amount to 6.5–7% before the coronavirus outbreak happened, but now we think that we should be more cautious, we expect it at 6%.”
He also said that Novaport was preparing for construction of an airport in the Kemerovo Region’s city of Sheregesh.
“We are preparing a project for Sheregesh, it is an important initiative for us, but it is important to define which project will receive support from the Transport Ministry and from the government of the Kemerovo Region,” he said.
